Advert Promoting Cottage Holidays In Britain.

Last Updated on December 29, 2011 by admin

Based around the theme, create magical memories to take home and treasure. The new advert from cottages4you and Enjoy England promotes cottage holidays in Britain. Whilst it is likely that only the largest of holiday home letting agents will have the marketing budget for TV advertising, increasing awareness of UK cottage holidays will no doubt have a positive knock on effect for all involved in UK holiday home lettings.

How do VisitEngland justify spending membership fees on promoting a commercial letting agent? The majority of cottage owners who advertise with this agent are not members of VisitEngland and are not quality assured by VisitEngland. This campaign should be investigated by the Office of Fair Trading and VisitEngland members are already writing letters of complaint about the misuse of their money and the anti-competitive promotion of this agent by VisitEngland.

I am frankly appalled that public money has been used to promote this individual business. The argument was that this was to “expand the market” but this was clearly not the case when you saw the content of the advert. It was all about Cottages4U with a VE logo at the end.

Cottages4U are a huge faceless organisation owned by Americans that do not know the meaning of personal service and are just looking to maximise their profits at the expense of the UK taxpayer. So much for the government supporting small businesses – it seems they are going into competition with small holiday cottage businesses, using our taxes!!!
